Co-owned by Lisa Buckland and Cara Crupi-Dulmaine, Modern Vintage Bridal is a sweet, sophisticated boutique in the heart of downtown Sandwich, MA. Tucked on a top floor off Main Street, MVB is perfectly placed for passers-by, boasting large windows and natural light. Wedding gown displays change with the season and can be seen from the street below, as can hints of the elevated decor and curated bridal selection.
While shopping for the “right” wedding gown can often be overwhelming, the ladies at MVB know how to hone in on your individual style inspiration and level of comfort to find a silhouette that suits. An open mind and leaving room for the unexpected are two pieces of advice that Crupi-Dulmaine suggests to the girls she meets. “Many times girls come in thinking they want one thing and then end up going for something totally different,” says Crupi-Dulmaine. “No matter what, in a time of so many choices, it is so important to stay true to yourself.”

Alyssa Satmary, bridal stylist, is also on hand to help ensure that this takes place. “The brides that come to Modern Vintage Bridal are less interested in the bigger stores and seek a personalized and private shopping experience,” says Crupi-Dulmaine. “This is what we pride ourselves in offering. We can’t compete with the dress selection at a large store, but we can offer a top-notch experience. We have a beautiful space, a comfortable and stress-free atmosphere and offer heartfelt guidance when trying on dresses. We want to be a part of making the wedding experience as exciting and memorable as every bride has always dreamed of. A bride deserves to feel special, beautiful and overflowing with excitement once she finds her dress. We are all about good vibes and making memories. This is what what sets us apart from the rest.”
MVB offers tux and suit rentals and purchases, flower girl dresses, bridal accessories and custom wedding stationery and day-of materials. Recent additions to the space and collection also include mother-of-the-bride, bridesmaid and prom dresses.
As for gown go-tos? It seems like brides-to-be are focusing on more of what they want and following less rules. Last year, MVB had a few black dress orders and an interest in shorter, or tea-length, gowns. Other accents like puffy sleeves, capes and headpieces have seemed to influence the general style. This wedding season is lots of tulle, hints of color in the gowns or veils, strapless bodices and atypical sleeve designs.
Regardless of what you want to wear, or how you want to wear it, the team at Modern Vintage Bridal will get you to the aisle looking, and feeling, exceptional.
